Of your many projects,  what's your main focus?

So my main focus right now would be Polymer Studios, um, which I'm the founder and creative director for. The thesis behind is to bridge the gap between fashion and engineering. To show there's similarities between the two. When you think about fashion, you’re thinking seasons or catalogs ahead. In engineering, you're always designing for the future. So putting those two worlds together and finding ways to articulate those, that's like the biggest project that I'm working on right now.

What was the inception of Polymer?

I used to think I was going to go to the NBA and was going to have my own sneaker deal. I'm going to work for Nike. So I always had an interest in fashion. I was also really good with computers. I just never knew that those two worlds could ever meet. My senior year of high school, I had to really figure that shit out because football didn't work out. So what's going to make me the most money or make the most money for me to be able to build capital in order for me to do what I want to do. So I chose engineering. The first two years of school, I didn't feel motivated in that space because a lot of my peers weren't really in a similar headspace. Then my cousin OB, my best friend, and my brothers, OB Kao, Ugo, started building a community within ourselves and started feeding off one another. I had internships, learned supply chain, learned a lot of different things that were essential to the business I'm doing now. I was sitting in my 3-D Printing class, and we had always heard about polymers. I was looking at the board and it just looked different one day. So I started drawing and brainstorming and settled on Polymer Studios because I'll be able to do so many things under the umbrella. Then I went and went back and did my research. The definition of a polymer is two monomers conjoining together and repeatedly making a bond.Essentially, engineering is my “x” and fashion is my “y.” Let's make a polymer. I want this to be the bridge between fashion and engineering and have a very detailed outlook of what it looks like  to show people how these two sectors of life come together and find ways to like, explain that.

What are some of your plans as far as the next drop? What does that look like?

I'm going to try to start off the year with another pack, like how I did Migos, where I just made some cool shirts, some basic tees. I sold them at an affordable price for people to just have a piece of polymer. So I think I'm going to start the year off with that, just to show my love, and thankfulness for all the support that I've been getting throughout this year. I'm really gonna be focusing heavy on black history once again. February is gonna be monumental.

In what ways before stress and strain did the community that Dallas shape you?Just seeing how resilient people were. My homies are in the music industry. I got homies that have been doing this fashion shit. There's a community that is in full support of everything that you're going to do, you just have to know how to tell that story. I think that's what pushed me, trying to find ways to tell my story the right way, where it makes sense not just to the people that are in STEM or the people that are in tech or whatever, but makes sense to every single person in Dallas. And I think seeing the different people in Dallas that have done it, like Paakow. I always talked to Paakow about different shit. I love how Paakow has flourished in MIZIZI and how he's gotten so much love. And that's inspired me to keep pushing because he told his story and people are already backing him because Africans are so eager for it. Africans are very egotistical. We love seeing our countries on our chest.People are going to back you regardless because they understand where you're coming from. They understand the story.
